I am graduating from university with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Public Health this April, 2010. I'm interested in either Health Promotion & Protection or Occupational Hygiene as a career. I was told that the Health Departments in BC are excellent, hiring, and great places to work for.
I'm really interested in BC, particularly Victoria or Vancouver. I know that while both cities, they offer very different things. I'm leaning more toward Victoria, as I hear it rains much more in Vancouver. I'm from Atlantic Canada and I'm much more used to the snow, and would find constant rain depressing. However, I know that Vancouver has much more culture and night-life. I was also told Victoria is very bike friendly and there is great transit, bike and walking access in the city.
In terms of neighborhoods I want to live in a clean, quiet, safe neighborhood that isn't right downtown but not too far. I would prefer a neighborhood with young professionals, and not crowded with students or families with kids running all around. I now rent is crazy expensive too, so can anyone recommend a great website that I can check out for housing?
I just can't decide! Hope someone can offer some advice. |
